Rodrigo Almeida, one of the most exciting Brazilian designers of the moment, made Burle Marx Office for the design fair – Black – in Sao Paulo.
I’m very honored to say that he is presenting two of my prints and developed a paper wall for the ceiling of the space.
Here’s a picture where you can see my two prints on the wall – “How do you do ?” and Mechoacanna Silvestris.

I made these two figures back in January 2010 – when I was in Naples with my husband.

We went to visit the Raimondo di Sangro chapel and I saw the two XVII century anatomical studies: a man & a pregnant woman.
At the time, anatomical studies were not as detailed as the ones created by the Alchemist inventor. Some said he had actually killed two people in order to make the sculptures. Now we know that he had actually used some sort of plastic – which is by itself an amazing achievement!
Anyway – for the little anecdote – we came out of the Di Sangro Chapel and went to a bar. I was still obsessed by the anatomical studies when suddenly my eyes set on a very kitsch clock : a leprecon with a gigantic clock inserted on his belly.
This was the beginning of the Timenauts….
(Nota: There was a child – but I decided never to print it. It was inside a womb and surronded by metal, clockworks, etc … I lost the photoshop originals – actually all of my 2010 compositions. It feels right in a way… I cannot reproduce the Timenauts. I have made two big prints of these compositions last year. And have some smaller posters.)
